LIRF, Rom, Italy
Rome Fiumicino Airport (LIRF/FCO), also known as Leonardo da Vinci Airport, is Italy’s largest and busiest airport, serving as the primary gateway to the country and the main hub of ITA Airways. Located about 30 kilometers southwest of Rome, the airport handles millions of passengers each year and offers connections to destinations across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Its modern infrastructure includes multiple terminals and three runways, supporting a diverse range of aircraft from regional jets to long-haul wide-body airliners such as the Airbus A350, Boeing 777, and Boeing 787. Thanks to its strategic location on the Mediterranean, LIRF plays an important role in international aviation and serves as a key transit point between Europe and other continents. The airport combines high traffic volumes with a wide variety of airlines, making it one of the most significant aviation hubs in Southern Europe.
